ICC, ASHRAE Publish Combined 2009 IECC/Standard 90.1-2007
This October, the International Code Council (ICC) and American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) jointly published the national model building energy codes in one book: the 2009 International Energy Conservation Code and ANSI/ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1-2007 - Energy Standard for Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings.
The publication came as a direct result of requirements for states to receive funding for building energy code implementation under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (Recovery Act) of 2009, which directed states to adopt the 2009 IECC and Standard 90.1-2007 and achieve compliance within 90 percent of new residential and commercial building space by 2017.
