What BCAP Does
- Deliver state-based code advocacy on behalf of the US Department of Energy’s Building Energy Code Program (BECP)
- Conduct workshops for state policy makers, builders, code officials, designers, and others on the benefits and specific features of the model energy code.
- Rally support from public and private stakeholders for state and local code adoption activities
- Provide information and develop resources on the energy and carbon benefits associated with state code improvements
- Review and advise on state and local code adoption legislation
- Testify at the state and local level for adoption of the model energy code
- Serve as a clearinghouse on energy code information
- Develop up-to-date information on national, state, and local code activities and adoption through website and quarterly newsletter

- (In Development) Provide detailed supporting material on potential state code amendments that are intended to improve energy efficiency – Code Builder
- Develop resources to support code compliance
- Assist states in creating/expanding state Code College pages to provide on-line code information and training (i.e. content development, secure co-funding, training development)
- Develop resources with the International Code Council to support IECC implementation
- Provide energy code trainings & workshops
- Work with states to deliver technical information on new and pending energy code changes and on advanced codes and standards
