Integrated Design Process Training Series

Location: Howrey LLP, 1299 Pennsylvania Ave. NW (MAP)

Cost: $295 (Competitive scholarships available for non-profit org staff and government personnel)

Overview: Session 1
July 27th 4-6pm, and July 28th 8:30-5pm
These are the first sessions in the series. We will focus on the fundamentals of the integrated design process (IDP): interpersonal, team dynamics, and technical tools and metrics.

Session 2
Attend one assigned stakeholder breakout sessions:
July 29th 8:30-12:30pm, 1-5pm, or; July 30th 8:30-12:30pm
In this second session we will conduct a more in-depth exploration of interests specific to the participant's role in the integrated design process; their constraints, contracts, fees, risks, interdependencies and opportunities.
(Each breakout session is designed to address issues and concerns of specific stakeholder groups: policymakers, developers/owners, architects, engineers and other design consultants, and general contractors)

Session 3
July 31st 8:30-2pm
The final session re-assembles the full multi-disciplinary group and focuses on synthesis and synergies, setting new expectations on contractual responsibilities, deliverables, and methodologies for decision-making and team interactions.

Who Should Attend: The main stakeholder groups who are critically involved in IDP are developers/owners, architects, design consultants (engineers, landscape, civil, etc), general contractors and policymakers.

Expert Trainer: Barbra Batshalom, Founder and CEO of the Green Roundtable, Inc., and Nexus - Boston's Green Resource Center, LEED AP - Barbra has sixteen years experience in architecture and consulting with cities, institutions and companies, transforming their internal practices to improve performance, profitability and sustainability.
