Overview: This two-day class will train professionals in how to understand a home the way a doctor understands the body. It begins with building science for the non-science minded; moving through how a building works as a system. Conduction, convection and radiation are the heat transfer mechanisms that we will explore in detail. We will also address the fundamental principles at work when treating the problems of comfort, mold, indoor air quality and energy efficiency.
As we have seen in the marketplace, green and energy retrofit projects are being prioritized for their value to the homeowner. With this course you will be able to optimize your effectiveness in saving your clients energy and making their homes, green.
Who Should Attend: This class is for building professionals, particularly home remodelers and residential architects. It begins by explaining building science for the non-science minded and moves through how a building works as a system. (Maximum of 40 participants per class)
