Building Codes Assistance Project

The State Building Inspector, the Office of the State Fire Marshal, and the Code Amendment Subcommittee of the State Codes and Standards Committee of the state of Connecticut are conducting a regulatory process to approve an amendment to the state's building code (currently, the 2003 IECC for residential and commercial buildings).

The 2009 Amendment to the 2005 State Building Code would update the energy code for residential and commercial buildings to the 2006 IECC. The final proposed draft of the State Building Code 2009 Amendment is proceeding through the regulation adoption process. The code will be effective on August 1, 2009.
