Building Codes Assistance Project

On April 22, the International Code Council (ICC) announced its plans to develop a Green Building Code that is coordinated and consistent with the entire family of I-Codes. The new code will be developed under the Council's governmental consensus process with the collaboration of key partners along with input from its members and stakeholders. Targeted at commercial markets, the code likely will address:

• energy efficiency (including solar and other advanced technologies),
• water use efficiency,
• materials and resource use conservation,
• indoor environmental quality, and
• overall building impact on the environment.
