Building Codes Assistance Project

Issue: There are many ways by which codes might be advanced to take better advantage of an enhanced building envelope (walls, roofs, foundation walls, floors) technologies and techniques. New insulation products that are not favorably treated by the model codes need to be incentivized by promoting performance code compliance that better measures those advantages in the codes, by improving ways to measure true insulation performance, and by creating better building details that combine insulation with new applications.
