BCAP Workshop & EE Global 2009 in Paris -- April 27-29

BCAP is inviting you and your colleagues to EE Global 2009 -- a international forum on "all things" energy efficiency hosted by the Alliance to Save Energy -- this April 27-29 in Paris, France.  Among the many events planned, BCAP will be hosting a workshop on building energy codes in the U.S. and abroad. BCAP is also offering a special discount rate for registration.

General Information

The Alliance has assembled an unparalleled roster of more than 100 international business and government luminaries from more than 20 countries and six continents discussing the hottest energy and environmental issue of the day: energy efficiency. From economic stimulus funding in the U.S. to new government mandates in Europe to the potential role of energy efficiency in the climate negotiations scheduled for Copenhagen at the end of the year, EE Global is your "one-stop" event for a full and nuanced understanding of the state of energy efficiency world-wide and the best insights on what to expect in the future.

More than just an informational exchange, EE Global features workshops (information coming soon to eeglobal.com), a large exhibition of the latest in technologies and products, and key networking events , and therefore delivers more than most conferences, serving as a forum for forging new partnerships; finding new customers and accelerating the migration of best energy efficiency practices and policies across the globe.

EE Global 2009 is multidimensional, allowing you to tailor your experience around your specific interests. We have twenty-four Executive Dialogue Sessions, organized around the buildings, industrial and utility, transportation and consumer sectors; and each focusing on the key cross-cutting issues: financing, policy, technology and market transformation.

The need for a global forum on energy efficiency has never been more urgent as businesses and governments that are struggling to rebuild economies and build viable and sustainable energy futures look to energy efficiency as a "first solution". To encourage our friends and allies to join BCAP for this historic gathering, we are pleased to offer you a special registration rate. When you register, use the code "Friend of the Alliance" to access this discount.

Utilizing Innovative Networks to Advance Building Efficiency through Codes

Through sharing information, facilitating collaboration, and taking action, strong local and national organizations can promote energy efficiency to policymakers and - in the marketplace - can bring about significant and sustainable efficiency improvements. This workshop will explain how the Alliance to Save Energy works to promote such changes in the US, in general, and will focus on one specific area -- supporting US building energy codes through its program, the Building Codes Assistance Project (BCAP). BCAP will facilitate the workshop and provide information on current international codes research, including a codes database, research on APEC economies, and the development of a communication and best practice network in the US. This network will be analyzed as a model for regional networks around the world to facilitate communication and information-sharing in an effort to advance energy codes and their implementation. Sponsored by the Energy Foundation and organized by the Building Codes Assistance Project (BCAP) and the Alliance to Save Energy.
