The Montana Department of Labor & Industry, Building Codes Bureau will be holding a meeting of interested parties and stakeholders on the subject of the adoption of the 2009 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). The purpose of this meeting will be to have a discussion on the merits of adopting the 2009 IECC (starting in late winter or early spring of 2009 with a final adoption date sometime in summer of 2009) versus continue the drafting of the adoption of the 2006 IECC, with expected final adoption in late spring of 2009. There will be additional discussion on other energy code topics, including modifications proposed to either code adoption, limited analysis of changes to the 2009 IECC, and other discussion points as requested by the interested parties.
The meeting date is Thursday, November 6th, in Helena, starting at 1PM (Mountain Standard Time). Please respond to David Cook (contact information below) by October 31st if you plan to attend so a room of appropriate size can be reserved. The final location will be forwarded via email once it has been decided. If you know of other stakeholders that may want to attend this meeting, please have them email David Cook and he will add their names to the interested parties list.
