The bill was amended to establish the minimum energy conservation standards for any new residential building construction on or after January 1, 2008, as the 2003 IECC. This amendment encourages builders to voluntarily comply with and utilize the 2006 IECC standards for residential construction. The bill passed unanimously in the Senate (SB0116) on May 9, 2007, and is being considered in the House (HB0348).
