The Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (MEEA) is hosting the 2009 Ohio Energy Expo on June 2 from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm in the West Plaza of the State Capitol in Columbus. Energy Expos bring together energy services companies, utilities, manufacturers and retailers to highlight the economic development potential of energy efficiency policies. This collaborative event will bring together all of the stakeholders with policymakers to find common ground to support and advance energy efficiency policies and programs.

The West Virginia State Fire Commission will hold a public meeting at 1:00 PM (Eastern Time) on June 16, 2009 dealing with the adoption of the 2009 ICC Codes (including the IECC).

The meeting location is the State Fire Marshal's Office at 1207 Quarrier Street 2nd Floor, Charleston, West Virginia. The public comment period (written comments) for the adoption of these codes ends at 4:00 PM on June 16, 2009.

The Montana Building Codes Council will meet 11:00 o'clock A.M (Mountain Time), June 25, 2009, in the basement conference room (room B07), 301 Park Avenue, Helena, Montana, to assist the department with the application, implementation, and interpretation of the state building code and building codes adopted by counties, cities, or towns.

The purpose of this meeting is to consider and make recommendations concerning the adoption of the 2009 IECC.

On February 17, legislation (HB 3550) was introduced in the South Carolina State Legislature that would mandate the 2006 IECC for all new and renovated buildings effective July 1, 2009. Local building officials would be required to enforce the new standards, and alternate enforcers would be provided in areas that do not have building code officials.
